Getting Started With a 15-Minute Fitness Plan can be Easy and Inexpensive
Starting a new workout routine can sometimes be challenging. But if we take a step back and look at why it can be so difficult, we often find it’s because we’re putting too much pressure on ourselves, or that we have unrealistic expectations one way or the other.
By taking an honest appraisal of your current level of fitness, and setting appropriate goals for yourself, you’ll find that a 15-minute fitness routine can be rather easy to integrate into your life. Almost everyone can handle a 15-minute workout every day (or several times per week), provided they’re working at an appropriate intensity level.
Don’t Set Unrealistically High Expectations
You may be familiar with the following quote:
Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you’ll land among stars!
While it’s certainly an inspirational message, and can be helpful in many aspects of your life, be careful in applying this concept to your workouts – particularly when you’re just starting out. If you’ve been leading a relatively sedentary lifestyle for the past few years, then setting a goal of running in the next New York City Marathon probably isn’t realistic. Worse yet, it may lead to you trying to cram too much exercise into your modest workout time and getting burnt out or, worse yet, injured.
Make a realistic assessment of your current fitness levels, taking into account any injuries or other physical issues you may be dealing with.
Be sure to get a checkup from your doctor before you begin any new exercise program such as a 15-Minute Fitness routine. This step is important for everyone, but it’s particularly important if your lifestyle over the past few years has been relatively inactive.
But Still Challenge Yourself
It’s also important not to set your sights too low either. The goals you set for yourself should be realistic and achievable, but they should also be something of a challenge.
In the next sections of this report we’ll go over the most common techniques that people use when starting a new 15-Minute Fitness routine. These include doing your 15-Minute Fitness workouts at home, at a gym, or even at work.
We’ll also discuss how to approach building an appropriate workout for yourself, and some of the equipment you might choose to use. It’s important to note that there’s no need to buy expensive equipment or join a gym (unless you want to).
